How Do I Know if My Home Appliance is Still Under Warranty?

A good rule of thumb for an appliance warranty is that most manufacturers will offer a warranty that lasts up to a year.

What Does a Home Appliance Warranty Cover?

Throughout the duration of the appliance warranty period, manufacturers will repair or replace parts that are found to be defective. Whether due to workmanship or defective materials.

The warranty does not cover the following: Periodic checks, maintenance. It also does not cover abuse or misuse, “including but not solely limited to the failure to use this product for its normal purposes or in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions on usage and maintenance ( Samsung Product Warranty Information). “

The warranty does not cover commercial use or use outside of the US. Additionally, it does not cover normal wear and tear or damage if that damage is due to improper installation.

Tinkering with a Home Appliance Can Cost More Than You’ll Save

Did you know you could void your warranty by attempting to fix your home appliance yourself? Replacing a water filter & standard maintenance or upkeep is fine, but if you try to do a job reserved for a professional you may render the warranty void.
